Akshay Kumar’s Gold has established a new record for Bollywood’s beloved superstar on Thursday. Reema Kagti-directorial Gold became Akshay’s highest opening film ever, beating Singh Is Bling which was his highest opening film till now. Also, the sports drama film stands shoulder to shoulder with Salman Khan’s Eid offering this year. Race 3 made Rs 27.5 crore on its day 1 while Gold is only 0.5 crore behind this number.
